Bonnie Cochran and Bryan Wrenn formed the Cochran Wrenn Duo in 2011 to explore the repertory for flute and guitar duo and to build audiences for this type of chamber music. Since that time, they have performed many concerts together in varied settings, including main stage performances at Assumption College, First Night Worcester, Worcester Music Guild, UMass Worcester, Gore Place, as well as libraries and other local venues. Their goal is to make a difference by enhancing music in their communities.

From Bach to the Tango as well as the players’ original compositions and arrangements, this ensemble strives not only to entertain, but also to connect with and challenge the musical expectations of their audience. Bonnie and Bryan are committed to expanding the repertoire for flute and guitar and to performing present day works of living composers.

In addition to performing, Bonnie and Bryan both hold a deep commitment to music education for children and adults. When they are not performing, you can often find one of them teaching private music lessons or leading clinics in local schools and community settings. Their concerts often include dialogue with the audience to engage listeners more fully and enhance the musical experience by giving them a window into the pieces being performed.

Bryan Wrenn has played guitar for over twelve years and has a master's degree in guitar performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studied with world renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk. Prior to his time at NEC, he attended Assumption College in Worcester, MA, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and studied classical guitar with Peter Clemente. He has also studied electric guitar and jazz theory/improvisation with Joe D’Angelo and Steve Trombley. In addition to his private studies, he has performed in master classes for Pepe Romero, Benjamin Verdery, Jason Vieaux, and Lorenzo Micheli. He works frequently as a soloist, having played in numerous venues throughout New England, including Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. Bryan was honored to perform the Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez as a soloist with Syphony Pro Musica in May 2011. He has also performed as an orchestral guitarist throughout central Massachusetts for such groups as the Worcester Jazz Orchestra, Wachusett Theater Company, Foothills Theater, Theater at the Mount, and Worcester County Light Opera. He is also active in music education, both as a freelance instructor and at the David French Music Company in Westborough, MA, where he has taught for the last five years.
